The text on this site is set in Atkinson Hyperlegible, designed by the Braille Institute of America for readers with low vision. Its letters are drawn to be told apart easily, which is why we chose it.

Icons

The few icons on this site, such as the monitor, sun and moon in the colour mode control and the three lines on the Menu button, are simple shapes drawn by hand as inline SVG for this site. No icon library is used.

Built with Astro

The site is built with Astro, an open-source framework released under the MIT licence. It turns our pages into plain static HTML, with almost no JavaScript.

Hosted on Cloudflare

The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which also provides the Web Analytics we use to count visits. The privacy page explains what that means for you.

The Zacess code

Zacess is free software under the GNU Affero General Public License, version 3. The code is at zacesshq/zacess on GitHub. The browser version builds on open-source projects including Tesseract (through tesseract.js), pdf.js and mammoth. The full list with each licence is in the repository's NOTICE file.
